AV Fair Booth - 2023 Co-sponsored with all of the Democratic Clubs in the Antelope Valley!

We collaborate with many local groups to hold "meet the candidate" events where members of the community can discuss the issues with the candidates in a casual, one-to-one environment.

There were also many members who attended the state party convention in Los Angeles this spring. They represented our community and touched base with local candidates running for office. The rural caucus was full of wonderful ideas!

November 2022 General Election action!

Our own president, Ann McKeown, personally walked all over Acton and Agua Dulce knocking on doors and talking with fellow Democrats about our clubs endorsements for several days the week before the election. She left door hangers with information about who we were backing as well as information about our club and how to become a member!

In addition, many club members texted all of the registered Democrats in Acton Agua Dulce. As a result, voter turnout for Democrats in our area this last midterm election was a record 46%!

The club hosted a Picnic in the Park with Christy Smith on October 2 at Acton Park. Christy spoke eloquently and intimately about the issues that motivate her and the need for strong leadership in Congress. She answered questions from those in attendance and made everyone feel a part of a caring community and a team. Our board invited people from all over the community.

The club co-sponsored a family Halloween Carnival at Sgt. Owens Park in Lancaster the Sunday before Halloween. It was a blast with lots of games, prizes, cookie decorating and a bounce house for the kids. So many people came from all over.  Christy gave a wonderful talk and greeted all of the visitors. Members enjoyed and helped out.

August barbecue and Meet the Candidate picnic at Yellen Park in Palmdale. Acton horses represented!! Many other candidates were in attendance!

Our club mobilized and hosted the "We Won't Go Back" rally in Palmdale hours after the Supreme Court decision reversing Roe v. Wade was announced. More than 50 people participated. We received many supportive honks, thumbs up, comments and spontaneous donations of cases of water and poster making materials.
